Getting ready to revisit the first ‘original’ Playstation RPG that I played nearly 30 years ago… I’d played Final Fantasy and other 2D style JRPGs on the GameBoy and then the SNES, but when I moved over to the Playstation in 1996, this was the first different IP I’d played, and knew nothing about it.
It also got several people who hadn’t played JRPGs into it; a housemate from Uni and my sister, both of them obsessively playing to make sure that they recruited all of the 108 Stars of Destiny. And I saw Mary burn the midnight oil doing ANYTHING to get her beloved Gremio back.
Will be interesting seeing what’s tidied, what’s reinvented and how it goes.
Oh, and as long as I can name the main character ‘Bates’ and the fortress ‘Barbara’, I’ll be happy.
